In this introductory bookbinding workshop, you will learn how to make your own A5 stab-bound book, a binding method developed in 17th century Japan that is still used throughout the world to create notebooks and albums. All materials will be provided to create your own A5 book, and you will be able to customise your cover from a range of decorative papers and coloured threads. The workshop will be hosted by artist and bookbinder Elize de Beer, owner of Bookward Bound Bindery, which uses traditional bookbinding techniques to create contemporary books and artist books.
